Its caramel color is reminiscent of the pine forests where it originates, and adds a subtle golden touch to the final cosmetic formula.
Lignin is the second most abundant plant polymer in nature. It is rich in phenols, which give it antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, and it also absorbs ultraviolet radiation.
Lignin is obtained as a waste product from the paper industry, and billions of tons are produced every year. Ninety percent of lignin is burned. By developing lignin-based ingredients, Roka Furadada gives this product a second life and harnesses its properties.
